🍂 Seasons and sky

Snow is soft, cold, white flakes that fall from the sky in winter and cover the ground.

As the Earth travels around the sun all year, sometimes we get longer, warmer days, that is summer, and sometimes shorter, cooler ones, that is winter.

In autumn, green leaves slowly turn yellow, orange, and red before they fall off the tree.

In summer the sun shines longer and warms harder, so the days are hot. In winter the sun shines for less time, so it is colder.

High up in a cold cloud, water freezes into tiny ice flakes instead of raindrops. The flakes slowly fall down.

On a warm summer day the sun feels hot on your skin and the air outside feels warm all day.

At night you can see the moon and tiny bright stars twinkling far up in the sky.

Overnight the air gets very cold, so tiny bits of moisture freeze onto grass or windows. In the morning when the sun warms up, the frost melts quickly.
