A single building can take many months or even years to complete, especially large ones like schools, hospitals, or skyscrapers.

Plumbers install and fix the pipes that carry water in and out of buildings, making sure clean water flows to sinks and showers while used water drains safely away. When a pipe leaks, clogs, or bursts, plumbers track down exactly where the problem is hiding, often behind walls or under floors, and repair it before it causes bigger damage. Electricians install and repair the wiring that carries electricity safely throughout a building, connecting outlets, switches, and lights so that everything works exactly when you flip a switch. Because electricity can be dangerous if handled carelessly, electricians train for years to learn exactly how to work with wires safely, following strict rules every single time. They often work inside walls and ceilings, following wires that most people never even see, to fix problems or add new lights and outlets.

Mechanics examine cars and other vehicles to figure out why something is not working properly, listening for strange sounds and checking parts that wear out over time. Once they find the problem, mechanics repair or replace the broken part, then test the vehicle carefully to make sure everything works safely again. Mechanics also do regular check-ups on healthy cars, changing oil and checking brakes, which helps catch small problems before they turn into big, expensive ones.
